The programme is open for students of all leves, interested in acquiring communicative or advanced level of Polish language and specialized knowledge on Poland. The Polish Path is helpful for those planning to seek employment or business opportunities in Poland. This two- semester programme offers intensive language course and elective courses on Polish history, culture, business communication, economics and political system. Some courses include field trips to Krakow's old town and museums. Students will need to cover costs of entrance fees. Students can select also other courses from the English Track Programme.
Certificate in the Polish Path will be issued to students who complete two semesters of at least 29-30 ECTS per each. Those who complete only one semester or get less ECTS, will receive transcript of records.
The programme consists of two levels:
- Polish Path Beginner: at this level Intensive Polish course consists of 16 hours per week of language instruction and choice of courses on history, culture society, political system and economics in Poland. In the second semester students can choose a specialized course in Polish Business Vocabulary.
- Polish Path Intermediate: at this level Intensive Polish course consists of 10 hours per week of language instruction in the first semester and 8 hours per week in the second semester. In the second semester students can choose from regular courses offered in the Polish language at the CUE. Students have also a wide choice of courses on history, culture, society, political system and economics in Poland offered in English.
After two semesters students reach the level of A2/B1 (according to European Council standards). In each semester there are two exams (midterm and final), of 12 ECTS each. It is possible for a diligent student to make an attempt to pass an official B1 exam in the Polish language which is a worldwide recognized certificate of language qualification.
